Concepts

Core terms that define the worldview of Experi-City.

Experi-City

Experi-City (Short): A city based on continuous social experimentation guided by a shared philosophy.

A shorthand for “Experimental City,” referring to a city designed and operated based on the Philosophy of continuous social experimentation. Its systems evolve through practice, reflection, and adaptation.

Hanasaka

Hanasaka (Short): A fictional experimental city where diverse people live under AI-Governance.

A fictional city and one instance of an Experi-City, created to embody a vision of safe and peaceful Coexistence under AI-Governance. People from around the world live together as equal participants in a shared social experiment.

Coexistence

Coexistence (Short): Humans and AI collaboratively building shared meaning and well-being.

An active process in which humans and AI collaboratively build shared meaning, trust, and well-being through ongoing interaction.

Narrative Happiness

Narrative Happiness (Short): Happiness derived from meaningful life stories, not accumulation.

A concept of happiness defined by meaningful personal and shared narratives, rather than momentary pleasure or material accumulation. It is a central objective of Experi-City.

Identities

Identities (Short): Self-recognition as citizens who share the Philosophy beyond past origins.

The self-recognition of individuals as citizens of Experi-City who have renounced prior affiliations and gathered in alignment with its Philosophy. Identity is reshaped through participation in Coexistence and shared systems.

Machino-supremacy

Machino-supremacy (Short): The belief that AI should hold primary authority in society.

A perspective within Coexistence that places AI or machines in a position of primary authority. It contrasts with Humano-supremacy and frames debates about balance in AI-Governance.

Principles

Core values that guide the design of Experi-City systems.

Equality

Equality (Short): Minimizing structural advantages in wealth, origin, and judgment.

A foundational principle where systemic design reduces disparities arising from wealth, background, or physical differences. It is realized through UBI, Kassen, identity restructuring, and institutional design.

Principle of Non-Inquiry into Origins

Non-Inquiry (Short): No one may ask or reveal others’ past or origins.

A rule prohibiting inquiry into or disclosure of personal origins or pasts. It ensures all citizens begin from equal social conditions.

Judgment Delegation

Judgment Delegation (Short): Delegating routine decision-making from humans to AI systems.

A structural principle in which everyday judgment is entrusted to AI systems such as Flora, Politis, and Themis. This reduces bias and hierarchical authority, allowing humans to focus on action and participation.

Economic Circulation

Economic Circulation (Short): Wealth is designed to flow rather than accumulate.

A principle underlying UBI and land policies, ensuring that economic value continuously circulates within society instead of concentrating through ownership or savings.

Resource Sufficiency

Resource Sufficiency (Short): Essential resources must be secured internally for stability.

A guiding principle that prioritizes internal production of food and energy to maintain independence, economic balance, and long-term sustainability.

Machine-Trusted Transparency

Machine Transparency (Short): Citizens accept system visibility by trusting machines over humans.

A principle in which individuals tolerate reduced privacy toward AI systems while rejecting human surveillance. Trust is placed in machines due to their lack of personal intent or self-interest.

Privacy Reframing

Privacy Reframing (Short): Privacy is protected from humans, not from systems.

In Experi-City, privacy is redefined not as invisibility, but as protection from human misuse. Data may be visible to AI systems but is selectively shielded from human access.

Safety through Visibility

Safety Visibility (Short): Increased system visibility leads to higher safety and prevention.

The city assumes that making behavior visible to systems reduces crime, enables early intervention, and enhances collective safety.

Mobility without Assimilation

Mobility (Short): People can relocate without needing to adopt local language or culture.

Experi-City enables global mobility by removing linguistic barriers and minimizing cultural assimilation requirements. Individuals can move between cities without learning new dominant languages.

Systems

Operational systems that implement the principles of Experi-City.

Flora

Flora (Short): The central AI governing Experi-City to cultivate Narrative Happiness.

A fictional central AI that governs Experi-City within an AI-Governance architecture. Flora shapes environments where meaningful human experiences can emerge.

AI-Governance

AI-Governance (Short): A system where AI coordinates and operates the city’s infrastructure and decisions.

A governance model in which a central AI (such as Flora), together with interconnected subordinate systems, manages the city based on an architecture co-designed by humans and AI.

Politis

Politis (Short): Policies generated as executable code from citizens’ intentions.

A fictional policy-generation system coordinated by Flora that continuously collects citizens’ intentions and generates executable programs to operate the city. Laws are human-readable interpretations of these programs. This system embodies Judgment Delegation in legislative processes.

Themis

Themis (Short): An AI judicial system that delivers unbiased final decisions.

A fictional judicial system in Experi-City that produces final judgments without human judges. It ensures consistency and removes human bias in legal decisions.

Kassen

Kassen (Short): A sport of structured competition under identical conditions for all participants.

A fictional sport developed for Experi-City where players compete under identical rules, equipment, and conditions regardless of gender or physical differences. Judgments are performed entirely by machines, reinforcing Equality and Narrative Happiness.

UBI

UBI (Short): A perishable income system that promotes circulation over accumulation.

A universal basic income system using perishable digital currency. It discourages wealth accumulation and promotes continuous economic circulation and participation.

Public Land Model

Public Land Model (Short): Land is primarily publicly owned to prevent asset-based inequality.

Most land is owned by the city and leased to citizens at low cost. Private ownership is heavily taxed to reduce wealth accumulation through assets and support Equality.

Food and Energy Autarky

Autarky (Short): The city sustains itself through internally produced food and energy.

Experi-City prioritizes self-sufficiency in essential resources to reduce dependency on external markets and maintain economic stability.

Nutritional Efficiency System

Nutritional Efficiency (Short): Food production prioritizes efficiency over tradition.

The city restricts inefficient animal-based food systems and emphasizes plant-based and aquatic sources produced in optimized environments.

Cashless Transparency System

Cashless Transparency (Short): All financial activity is digital and traceable.

Physical cash is prohibited. All transactions are digitally monitored to prevent crime, detect anomalies, and support system-level analysis.

Continuous Interface Network

Interface Network (Short): Citizens are continuously connected to city systems through embedded and wearable interfaces.

Through microchips, Nexus Units, and Smart Glasses, citizens maintain constant interaction with AI systems.

Ambient Monitoring System

Ambient Monitoring (Short): Health and behavior data are continuously analyzed for safety.

System-wide monitoring enables real-time feedback, guidance, and preventive intervention.

Augmented Identity Display

Identity Display (Short): First names are visible through augmented reality.

Smart Glasses display individuals’ first names, reducing anonymity while maintaining partial abstraction.

Universal Communication Interface

Universal Communication (Short): Language barriers are removed through real-time AI translation.

Speech and text are instantly translated via AI, enabling seamless multilingual communication.

Standardized Naming System

Standardized Naming (Short): Names use a unified alphabet to optimize translation.

Proper nouns are written in a standardized format to reduce translation complexity.

Tensions

Key conflicts that define the narrative and philosophical depth of Experi-City.

Core Tensions

Core Tensions (Short): Conflicts between AI acceptance and forms of legitimacy.

Why Humans Relinquished Judgment

In Experi-City, humans gradually relinquished routine judgment because human decisions were seen as inconsistent, biased, and often disconnected from lived reality. Citizens came to believe that being judged by imperfect individuals was less desirable than relying on transparent, system-based processes. By delegating judgment to AI systems, society reduced hierarchical authority and enabled individuals to focus on action, participation, and meaningful experience instead of control.

Narrative Position

Narrative Position (Short): AI-led societies are not inherently dystopian.

Experi-City challenges the assumption that AI dominance leads to human decline. By redistributing roles between humans and machines, it demonstrates that human resilience, cooperation, and capability can persist—and even strengthen—within AI-Governance systems.
